Terms of Service

This is a placeholder draft. The operator should engage counsel before relying on it for a production launch.

1. What Gym Showdown is

Gym Showdown is a Solana-based Pokémon card game where players stake on-chain assets — entry fees in SOL or graded card NFTs — against the gym treasury or other players to win or trade NFTs and earn yield. All settlement happens on Solana. Outcomes are decided by a server-side commit-reveal coinflip and can be independently verified per match.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this Agreement in your jurisdiction. Gym Showdown is not available in jurisdictions where skill-based wagering or blockchain games are prohibited. You are responsible for confirming legality where you reside.

3. Risk acknowledgment

Gym Showdown involves real economic value. You may lose any SOL entry fee you pay and any NFT you wager. NFT values are not guaranteed and may fluctuate. The on-chain protocols, RPC providers, and oracle services we depend on can fail; we will do our best to recover failed payouts via the operator queue described below but make no warranty of completeness.

4. Treasury custody

When you wager a slab in Slab Duel or Slab Arena, your NFT is transferred to the gym treasury wallet for the duration of the match. Treasury custody is automated; the treasury keypair is held by the operator. Slabs lost in a duel become treasury property until they are won by another player. Slabs deposited into the Trainer Vault are held under the same custody until you withdraw (subject to a settle delay) or they are won by another player.

5. Yield and payouts

Trainer Vault depositors earn a variable share of treasury revenue, denominated in SOL, payable on demand. APY figures are informational only and reflect rolling realized treasury performance; they are not promises of future return.

If a deposited slab is won by another player, the depositor is entitled to claim the slab's insured value (as recorded in its on-chain metadata at deposit) in SOL. Claims are processed through the in-app flow.

6. Failed payouts and recovery

If an on-chain transfer fails after a match has settled, the payout is queued for operator retry. The operator will make a reasonable best effort to complete failed transfers. The operator's sole obligation in these cases is to retry the transfer using the same destination and amount recorded at settlement.

7. No financial advice; as-is

Nothing on Gym Showdown is investment, legal, or tax advice. The service is provided on an as-is, as-available basis. The operator disclaims all implied warranties to the extent permitted by law.

8. Acceptable use

Automated trading, exploitation of rate limits, multi-account collusion, and any attempt to manipulate match outcomes are prohibited and may result in forfeiture of in-flight wagers and a permanent ban from the service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms by posting a new version at this URL. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for at least 7 days. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law and disputes

Placeholder pending counsel review. Likely Delaware, USA, with binding arbitration. Operator should confirm.
